Polson tennis teams down Columbia Falls

Polson picked up a pair of convincing wins on the tennis court at home Saturday as the Pirates and Lady Pirates both downed visiting Columbia Falls, 6-1.
The Pirates lone loss of the day came in the No. 1 singles matchup as Wildcat Parker Johnson defeated Hayden Congdon, 6-3, 6-2.
Polson's Dylan McCrumb won his matchup against Caleb Baumann 6-2, 6-4, Andrew Storro defeated Nathan Gedlaman 6-0, 6-2 and Sam Kinzle took down Josh Potter, 6-2, 6-3.
In boys' doubles action, the duo of Justin Evertz and Will Davey picked up a three-set win over Miroslav Zvgelskiy and Vadim Zvygelskiy, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 while Brady Hislop and Ian Laimbeer defeated Brian Marcille and Jordan Mueller, 6-4, 6-1. Reed Hovenkotter and Sam Peel also won their matchup as they defeated Andrew West and Isaac Morden, 6-3, 6-1.
The Lady Pirates also made short work of the Wildkats as Polson picked up a 6-1 win.
Lady Pirate top singles player Whitney Zimmerman took down Gabrielle Stenger, 6-1, 6-4 in their matchup. Kendyall Rochin defeated McKenna Emmerich, 6-0, 6-0 and Karly Rochin took down Micinze Christopherson, 6-2, 6-0. The Lady Pirates' lone loss of the day came as Andrea Getts fell to Sara Robinson in three sets, 6-2, 4-6, 6-1.
In doubles action, the team of Kenzie Clay and Jordan Quinn defeated Lexie Bartkoski and Marissa Getts, 6-4, 6-3 while Audra Engebretson and Karmen Borches took down Rachel Hagadone and Emma Covill 6-0, 6-2. Mollybeth Hendrix and Tegan Bauer also won their matchup as they defeated Tiffany Borland and Gabby Keller, 6-2, 6-1.
Polson faced Columbia Falls again Monday. The results of that matchup were not available at press time. Polson will host Whitefish Thursday and play at Libby Saturday.
