ST. IGNATIUS – The Vikings logged a split last week, falling to valley cousins, but came back to claim a league victory that helped them crest the District hill in conference play at 4-3.
Thursday the Vikings hit the blue gym in Mission to compete against neighbor Bulldogs but fell after four quarters of close .
Though three frames of fun were to be had with the Vikings keeping the score close, the Bulldogs gained the upper hand in the second, enough to fall the Vikings 40-44.
Vikings Dugan Runkel and Dalton Delaney led the Vikings with a combined 22 points. Runkel scored 12 and Delaney chipped in 10.
At home on Friday the Vikings redeemed their earlier burp with a conference stomping over St. Regis. While posting big numbers and outscoring the Tigers in every quarter, the Vikings ran away with the 85-61 victory.
Delaney led both teams at the net with 26 points while Runkel added 13 and Tyson Petticrew posted 10.
The Vikings will host Two Eagle River Thursday and Noxon Saturday.
