MISSOULA – The best track and field athletes in Montana gathered Tuesday at the 13th Russ Pilcher Western Montana Top 10 held at Missoula County Stadium. At the end of the day, eight meet records were broken despite cold weather. Three area schools were represented at the meet as Charlo, Ronan, and Polson athletes were invited to compete.
Ronan’s Adessa Durglo put up a solid performance, as she placed in three events. Durglo took first in the triple jump after jumping a distance of 34-10, and also finished second in the high jump, after clearing 5’-3”. Durglo also took sixth in the long jump, after clearing 15’-9.5”.
Polson’s Breanne Kelley placed two events, as she took fifth in the 100 hurdles with a time of 16.25, and finished sixth in the 300 hurdles with a time of 48.22. Mesa Starkey of Polson took fourth in the 3,200, finishing with a time of 11:52.27.
Charlo’s Dawn Blevins placed fifth in the javelin, after throwing a distance of 112’-8”.
In boys’ action, Stephen Delaney of Charlo finished the day with two impressive performances in both the 100 and 300 hurdles, after taking second in both events. In the 100 hurdle run, Delaney finished with the time of 15.6, and then finished with a time of 39.95 in the 300 hurdles.
Ronan’s Jordan Franklin took third in the 200, as he finished with a time of 23.45. Franklin then took second in the high jump, after soaring to the height of 6’-1”.
Marcus Hungerford of Ronan took fourth in the 800, with a time of 2:06.61.
Charlo’s Chance Rosenbaum tied for fourth in the pole vault with Ryan Hover and Jensen Roseboon of Hellgate, with a height of 12’-6”.
