POLSON — Lake County Commissioners voted to leave the City/County Planning Board intact at a meeting held on Dec. 17, 2014.
Chair Gale Decker said commissioners started getting phone calls about the planning board as the City of Polson’s development code rewrite neared completion in October.
“We needed to give folks an opportunity to weigh-in,” Decker said. “Do we want to keep it or do we want to dissolve it?”
They adopted a resolution to dissolve the city/county planning board, which basically opened the door for discussion, and scheduled the Dec. 17 public hearing.
Decker said he felt misinformation drove some early comments, since people may have thought Polson was trying to pull more folks into the city to help pay for the new sewer project, which was not the case.
Commissioners had little or no feedback at the meeting, Decker said, so Commissioner Bill Barron moved to retain the board and sign a memorandum of understanding with the city.
