An ATV operator walked away from a potentially life-threatening situation Saturday, when the vehicle they were using to clear a pond of snow, fell through the ice. Officials said the operator was trying to clear a patch of ice adjacent to the scenic turnout south of Ronan for skating purposes when it broke through and sank into the chilly waters. No one was injured in the incident. Ronan Volunteer Fire Department, Flathead Tribal Police, Ronan Ambulance, and Montana Highway Patrol responded to the incident
