POLSON – The Pirates finished with a decent approach to open regular season play with a split, bringing Polson to an even 500 at 2-2.

Friday at home, a big second half and a combined 31 points from Andrew Curley and Payton Lefthand wasn’t enough to save the Pirates from taking a dive in the 58-65 tumble to Kalispell Flathead.

Curley came away with 19 and Lefthand tossed in 12.

With sweet redemption on their minds, the Pirates followed Friday’s disaster with a big victory against Hamilton, taking down the Broncs in Hamilton on Saturday, 57-39. Curley gave another crowd pleasing performance, scoring15 points on five shots from the three point range.

Matthew Rensvold added another 12 for the Pirates.

Polson will return to host Ronan Jan. 3 and then will head to Kalispell to challenge Glacier Jan. 6.
