Editor,
How very lucky we are to have two good hospitals right here in the south Flathead Lake area. In the last week I have had a very personal lesson of just what it means to get immediate professional care from one of them when in a world of hurt.
My encounter started with a tall ladder and a tree-pruning device. All was going well with the job, when in just milliseconds, the ladder and I parted company. This left me laying on the ground for half an hour looking at the sky – that is before some kind neighbors came to my rescue. Then the arriving EMTs scooped me up, and we went to the St. Luke ER, where I was diagnosed with a broken pelvis.
With this letter I’d like to again emphasize and express my deep gratitude for all the quick and thorough professional care by all the personnel at St. Luke’s in this case.
My last days were in the care of those others manning the St. Luke’s extended care wing. They, too, were wonderful to me, and I’d like to hug every one of them and thank them personally one and all, of both facilities, with this letter.
Lastly I’d like to give those manning the kitchen and dining area a big "high five." In my estimation, too much unwarranted negative comment is made about "hospital food." I found it all to my liking and the personal menu choices to be a very nice part of their fine dining offerings.
With deepest gratitude always,
Will Elliott
