RONAN — A Billings-based natural resources attorney said last week that he is not a candidate for representing the Flathead Joint Board of Control in the upcoming legislative session.
The board’s attorney Bruce Fredrickson suggested in early November that the board consider hiring a lobbyist for the 2015 session that will begin in January. Tom Ebzery’s name was suggested along with several others. Fredrickson told irrigation commissioners Ebzery had “an outstanding reputation.”
Ebzery said potential conflicts would prevent him from representing the board, however.
“Although I am flattered to be mentioned I have not been contacted and if so would need to decline,” Ebzery said in an email. “I have represented Avista Corporation since the mid-‘90s in the Montana Legislature as well as other clients which might pose a conflict.”
