‘Celebrate the Season of Light’ contest begins

POLSON — Polson residents who drape their homes, businesses or yards in lights and ornaments as a way to express the joy of the Christmas season are invited to enter the Celebrate the Season of Light decoration contest.
The Envision Polson Beautification Committee developed the following categories: best business; best residence; best church; best outdoor tree; best monochrome (all one color); and best multiple colors.
Contest boundaries include Polson city limits plus Montana Highway 35 to Fulkerson Corner and Rocky Point Road to the Kings Point turnoff.
Nomination forms are available at the Polson Chamber of Commerce office, 418 Main Street, or may be downloaded at www.polsonchamber.com.
Completed entries should be dropped off at the chamber office from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. by Dec. 15. Committee members urge people to nominate themselves or their neighbors.
Judging will begin on Dec. 17, according to Suz Rittenhouse, committee member. Criteria is originality, overall appearance and best use of lights.
Winners will be announced in local papers and by telephone after Dec. 22.
