Editor,

I need to respond to Mr. McClellan’s letter in your Aug. 24 issue. Bless your heart Mr. McClellan. Many times I have thought this man is wasting his time and ink, but even if your words can change the mind of one person, get them to truly see differently; then it is well worth the effort. The human race of this world, how they treat each other and themselves – makes me cry on a frequent basis. To speak up about change and seeing life through love is a brave thing to do in the times we live in. The things that human beings are doing these days with increasing frequency weighs on my heart and soul heavily. It is the little steps, which will help us to change. The actor Ryan Gosling was mentioned recently in the news for simply having a thought that maybe he could help stop two people arguing over a painting from escalating into a full physical fight. His effort worked. This is a good example of the small steps we can start with, accomplished with words, not violence.
