News from YWAM Mission 21

RONAN — An opportunity to become part of something much larger than the local sphere is coming soon — a chance to live a radically real, relevant life with meaning, purpose and God adventures.

A three-month Youth With A Mission Discipleship Training School  begins Oct. 13 in Ronan, and will prepare people of all ages for mission service while discovering their direction for life.

With a focus on Africa, the DTS is for all nations, all generations, and all denominations, according to Emosi Tatukivei. DTS Leaders Emosi and his wife Silvana have served 10 years in Guinea Bissau, expanding and establishing mission work, building schools, health clinics, churches and ministry teams.

The first phase of training lasts 12 weeks, from Oct. 13 through Dec. 23 and is held from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each weekday morning to make the classes accessible to those who live and work nearby. Participants in the certificated program will draw closer to God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit; grow in Biblical knowledge; gain practical skills, cultural insights, language, prayer and worship in a creative and fun environment.

An eight-week, outreach field internship in Cape Verde and Portugal follows from Dec. 26 through Feb. 22, 2015, enabling students to experience mission work first hand alongside seasoned missionaries.

“The rewarding part is people back home come to realize there is more to what they are doing daily,” Emosi said. “They have a part to play in the great commission, whether at home, or sending people, or out in the (missions) field.”

The opportunity for this type of training in Ronan is remarkable in that many people travel great distances to receive the same classes, Emosi said.

Plus, the training can open doors to 240 nations YWAM serves.

“The whole idea is to start where they are. And it begins right here, in Ronan, Montana,” Emosi said.

The DTS training is part of a five-fold Family Ministry of WYAM Flathead that also includes Tribal Waves with Sika, Team Extreme with Tua, Father’s House with Larry Nicolas and Equip 21 with Georgia Penniman. All the ministry teams serve communities throughout Lake County and the Flathead Indian Reservation.

Tuition for those living at home is $1,700 and $2,800 for those living on the campus. Fees for the outreach phase are $2,200 for airfare plus ground fees, and may vary with location.
