Valley cross country athletes break top 15 at Frenchtown Invite

FRENCHTOWN – At Frenchtown on Saturday cross-country teams from Ronan, Mission and Arlee ran the three miles with both boys and girls from each team placing top 15.
Ronan was the only team from the valley to log team scores. The boys took fourth with a team score of 104 and the girls finished in third with a score of 107.
Among the boys, Mission’s Tate Weingart placed the highest out of the valley, finishing in eighth with a time of 18:02. Jackson Duffey from Ronan crossed the line just making top 10 with a finishing time of 18:20. Chief teammate Daniel Koehler rounded out the top 15 with a time of 18:34, good for 15th place overall.
Arlee Scarlet Amelia North fared the best out of the girls, placing 11th with a finish time of 22:32 while Maiden Penny Weyant recorded a time of 22:45 for 13th place.
All three teams will meet at the Thompson Falls Invitational Oct. 2.
