Lake County schools welcome new teachers to campus

RONAN — Ronan Middle School and Ronan High School welcome several new educators this year. 

Jessica Jones is the sixth-grade English teacher. 

Jones is from northeastern Ohio and received her bachelor’s degree from Kent State University and master’s degree from the University of Montana. 

Jones has taught college writing for the last seven years at the University of Montana and the College of Wooster in Ohio, where she ran the creative writing program for children. She has served as the outreach educator for the Akron Art Museum and taught continuing education with the Butler Institute of Art and University of Akron. 

Jones has served as the writer in residence for the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, where she taught poetry to upper elementary and middle school children. She also worked at Calcutta Mercy Hospital in India where she wrote about children in slum areas. 

In her spare time Jones enjoys yoga, Zumba, art and writing. 

Jones said her favorite aspect of teaching is the kids. 

“I love getting to know students, hearing their stories and dreams, and helping them to become lifelong learners,” Jones said. “I also love being a part of school community.”

Kellie Jones is the fifth grade reading and social studies teacher. 

Jones is originally from Frenchtown, and has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and master’s degree in education. 

In her spare time Jones enjoys bowhunting, fly-fishing, hiking, camping, writing, softball and volleyball. 

Her favorite aspect of teaching is getting to know her students and their families. She likes to make school engaging for all students. 

Jessica T. Davis is the drama teacher for Ronan Middle School and Ronan High School. 

She moved to Ronan from Lewistown, and has previously worked as a teacher’s aide. 

Davis graduated from the University of Montana.

Davis is the daughter of a preschool teacher, Kathleen Davis, and farmer Todd Davis. She has two sisters, Ashley Davis and Justine Schuff. 

Davis enjoys cooking, baking, reading and performing. 

She owns three cats: Scarlett, Romeo and Sherlock. 

Her favorite TV shows are Golden Girls, the Big Bang Theory, and I Love Lucy. 

Davis enjoys making connections with staff and students, and improving in her field. 

Frank Jobe is the vice principal at Ronan High School.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from Montana State University and master’s degree from the University of Montana. 

In his spare time, Jobe enjoys snow skiing, water skiing, hiking, biking, reading, camping and walking.
