POLSON — Sunshine and just enough of a chill for a jacket, made for good weather for the Mission Valley Doggy Dash Saturday morning.
The dash, a fundraiser for the Mission Valley Animal Shelter, took place at Linderman Elementary School’s track with a walk and other contests.
Dog owners collect pledges from family and friends for walking and Karen Woodger raised the most money, followed by Sheena Madsen.
In the contests, the following pooches won:
• Jessie, owner Eileen Neill, most well-behaved
• Earl, owner Liz King, largest, best trick
• Sailor, owner Kendyl Timlick, pet/owner look alike
• Samantha Joy, owners Nila and Dennis Anderson, smallest, worst behaved
The next MVAS fundraiser, Paws and Pints, will be held at the Glacier Brewing Company on Thursday, Sept. 25, at 5:30 p.m.
