Flathead Reservation Fish and Wildlife Board Meeting set
FLATHEAD RESERVATION — The Flathead Reservation Fish and Wildlife Board will meet Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024, from 1-3 p.m. at the Fish, Wildlife & Parks office at 3201 Spurgin Road, Missoula. This meeting will cover enforcement feports, bird hunting regulation updates and a presentation on the MyFWP app. All interested persons are invited to attend.

Learn the history of wildland fires in NW Montana
KALISPELL — On Thursday, Feb. 22, from 6-8 p.m. in the Arts & Technology Building on campus of Flathead Valley Community College, Rick Trembath of Flathead Forestry & Fire Consulting will provide a picture-based presentation featuring area wildfire history and influences from pre-European Native American times to recent wildfire events. Learn from historic fire to better anticipate future fire from a FVCC Forest Fire Management Instructor with 56 years of wildland fire experience.
Live accordion music to be played at library
POLSON — The North Lake County Public Library’s newly renovated Community Room is the site for the Mission Valley Live Musical Program: Duo Two Accordions. Sergei and Maria Teleshev will perform and teach about accordions at 10:30 a.m. Enjoy a variety of music styles performed by world-class musicians.

POLSON — The Lake County Pachyderms will meet on Friday, Feb. 23, at noon at the Polson Rural Fire Department, 25 Regatta Road. The guest speaker will be Linda Sauer from the “The Last Chance Patriots.

POLSON — Mission Valley Live presents Nic & Desi. They will sing, dance and share their love story in this duo celebration of classic and contemporary Broadway on Friday, March 1, at 7 p.m. in at Polson High School. Nicolas Dromard and Desiree Davar created this act to share their love of song and dance worldwide. KALISPELL — Gain an understanding Montana’s wolves and grizzly bears through a presentation by Wendy Cole, Wolf Specialist, and Lori Roberts, Research Assistant, both from MT Fish, Wildlife & Parks. On Tuesday, March 5, from 6-8 p.m. in the Arts & Technology Building on campus of Flathead Valley Community College, join two experienced Montana FWP biologists for an informative talk and learn about the ecology and behavior of these apex carnivores, their role in the Montana ecosystem and how to safely coexist with them on our shared landscapes. Discover the challenges and triumphs of wolf and grizzly conservation in Montana, and gain insights into the ongoing efforts to manage these iconic species.
MV Backcountry Horsemen to learn about chronic wasting disease

Pachyderms to hear from elections administrator
POLSON — The next Pachyderm meeting will be held on Friday, March 8, at noon at the Polson rural Fire Station. Our guest speaker for this meeting will be Toni Kramer who is the Lake County Elections Administrator. Toni will speak about the upcoming elections, what the county is doing to ensure a safe and honest election and how we are all able to volunteer and help. We hope to see everyone there.

POLSON — A cancer support group meets from noon to 1 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month in the Chapel at St. Joseph Medical Center.
The Cheerful Heart Cancer Support Group is for anyone affected by cancer and is led by Pastor Matthew Connally of the Ronan/Polson Nazarene Church.
The Chapel is located inside the front entrance to the hospital.

They will hold their first used book sale in our Community Room Friday, March 15, and Saturday, March 16. Please remember they do not accept items that are damaged, dirty or moldy.
